نشست های مقام های لبنانی در نشست بروکسل ۳ گویای شک و تردید اروپایی ها نسبت به تلاش لبنان برای پناهجویان بود. اروپایی ها همچنین درباره میزان تعهد لبنان و قول و قرارهای سابق این کشور در سال های گذشته نسبت به مساله پناهجویان ابراز شک و تردید کردند.
نمایندگان اتحادیه اروپا در این نشست از روشن نبودن نشانه های بازگشت پناهجویان سوریه در آینده نزدیک ، یعنی در یکی دو سال آینده (۲۰۱۹ و ۲۰۲۰) به کشورشان سخن گفتند. اروپا در این نشست بر بازگشت داوطلبانه پناهجویان سوریه وامنیت آنها تاکید کرد .
دکتر ناصر یاسین مدیر پژوهشی موسسه عصام فارس در دانشگاه آمریکایی بیروت که در این نشست شرکت کرده بود ، گفت: حمایت از لبنان و تاکید بر نقش دولت جدید در انجام اصلاحات جدی و واقعی مورد توجه کشورهای کمک کننده قرار دارد. اما مقام های اروپایی بر این باورند که دولت جدید تا حالا اقدامی برای انجام اصلاحات انجام نداده و این بدبینی و شک و تردید درباره توان لبنان برای انجام اصلاحات به نشست های پیشین در بروکسل و نیز مسائل دیگر در ارتباط با اصلاحات ارتباط دارد.
در این راستا کشورهای شرکت کننده در نشست سیدر دولت لبنان را به انجام اصلاحات فراخواندند.
از سوی دیگر، الشرق الاوسط به اطلاعاتی از منابع وزارتی و مجلس که در جریان دیدار دو روز پیش ملک سلمان بن عبد العزیز خادم حرمین شریفین و سعد الحریری نخست وزیر لبنان در کاخ الیمامه در ریاض بودند دست یافته است. بنا به این اطلاعات، این دیدار پیامدهای مثبتی در حمایت از لبنان برای پشت سر گذاشتن بحران های اقتصادی و مالی خود داشت
. منابع نزدیک به الحریری گفتند که او در دو روزه آینده دوباره راهی ریاض خواهد شد و احتمالا الحریری از بروکسل به ریاض سفر می کند.
الحریری روز چهارشنبه (۱۳ مارس) در راس هیات لبنانی برای شرکت در نشست بروکسل راهی این شهر شد.

منتدى الرياض الاقتصادي يناقش 5 دراسات لدعم التنمية خلال أكتوبر

يناقش منتدى الرياض الاقتصادي في دورته الثانية عشرة، المقرر عقدها خلال الفترة من 12 إلى 14 أكتوبر (تشرين الأول) 2026، 5 دراسات متخصصة تتناول قضايا تنموية واقتصادية، بهدف دعم صناع القرار برؤى قائمة على التحليل العلمي والممارسات العالمية.

وتبحث الدراسة الأولى تعزيز استخدام التقنيات الزراعية الذكية، من خلال الاستفادة من الذكاء الاصطناعي والتقنيات المؤثرة الأخرى لتحقيق الأمن المائي والغذائي، مع التركيز على رفع كفاءة استخدام الموارد وتطوير القطاع الزراعي في مواجهة شح المياه والتغيرات المناخية، وتزايد الطلب على الغذاء.

كما يناقش المنتدى دراسة استراتيجيات نقل المعرفة والخبرات وتوطينها، وأثرها على أداء المنظمات التي تستهدف تعزيز اقتصاد المعرفة ورفع كفاءة الكوادر الوطنية وتحويل المعرفة إلى قيمة إنتاجية مستدامة.

وفي محور البنية التحتية، يستعرض المنتدى دراسة تأثير الازدحام المروري في المدن الكبرى داخل المملكة: الأسباب والحلول، التي تتناول الآثار الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والبيئية للازدحام، وتطرح حلولاً لتحسين كفاءة النقل الحضري، ودعم التحول نحو مدن أكثر استدامة.

ويتناول المنتدى كذلك دراسة قياس أثر التشريعات والسياسات العامة، ودورها في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، بهدف تطوير أدوات تقييم الأثر ورفع كفاءة السياسات وربطها بمستهدفات التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والبيئية.

وفي محور دعم قطاع الأعمال، يناقش المنتدى دراسة تعظيم العوائد الاقتصادية والاجتماعية من استضافة المملكة لفعاليات «إكسبو 2030» وكأس العالم 2034، والتي تبحث سبل تحويل استضافة الفعاليات الكبرى إلى محركات للتنويع الاقتصادي والاستثمار وتوفير فرص العمل.

ومن المتوقع أن تخرج مناقشات المنتدى بتوصيات ومبادرات تنفيذية تُسهم في تطوير السياسات العامة ورفع كفاءة القطاعات الاقتصادية وتعزيز تنافسية الاقتصاد السعودي إقليمياً وعالمياً.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick indicated teenage star Lamine Yamal is finding his way back to his "top level" ahead of Monday's LaLiga clash against Rayo Vallecano.

The 19-year-old struggled in Barca's first match of the season at Elche but improved against Athletic Bilbao in the second, albeit without finding the net.

Flick said the Spanish World Cup winner is returning to his best, which Yamal has not hit since suffering a hamstring injury in April.

The winger returned at the World Cup but, despite Spain's success, had limited individual impact at the tournament.

"I know everyone is worried about how is Lamine, how is he doing. And of course, look at his situation, he played a World Cup after a huge injury," Flick told reporters Sunday.

"Now he's coming back after three weeks' holiday... and also the first game maybe was not his best game.

"But I said this, I was very happy that he starts the game and he worked for the team."

Yamal disappointed in the first half against Athletic on Thursday, but stepped up a gear after the break.

"He played 90 minutes against Bilbao. And for him at the moment, it's also good to (have) 90 minutes on the pitch," continued Flick.

"We saw him in some situations really on this top level. And now, you couldn't see this in the training (session) today, but I saw it and it was excellent.

"Everyone loves Lamine and he's in a good way. And we have to support him and we do that."

Yamal seemed in a bad mood after the game against Elche, but happier in training ahead of the Rayo clash.

"Of course, it's always good when the players are smiling, but it's not every day the same day," added Flick.

"I'm also not smiling every day -- it's like that."

Barca won both of their opening fixtures with Raphinha playing as a makeshift number nine, with the champions unable to land top target Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.

"Of course I'm happy with my team, (sporting director) Deco is working on that to strengthen the team. We don't have pressure," said Flick, reiterating he is content with the players available to him if Barca don't sign a new striker.

NASA's Newest Space Telescope Launches on a Quest to Explore the Hidden Universe

NASA’s newest crown jewel blasted off Sunday to hunt for planets around other stars, explore secret dark energy and survey the cosmos like never before.

SpaceX launched the $4.3 billion Roman Space Telescope shortly after daybreak aboard a triple-the-fire-power Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center. Roman blazed toward an observation point 1 million miles (1.6 million kilometers) away that's home to the Webb Space Telescope, one of NASA's other big-ticket eyes in the sky.

The bus-sized telescope — named after the late Nancy Grace Roman, NASA’s first chief astronomer — will take more than three months to reach its destination. Once there, it will cast the widest gaze yet on the hidden parts of the universe from space, uncovering the unimaginable with unsurpassed speed.

“It’s going to find thousands of supernovae, tens of thousands of planets, billions of galaxies and tens of billions of stars,” said NASA science mission director Nicky Fox. “It’s going to be able to do things that we’ve never been able to do before with its massive field of view.”

Several minutes after the thunderous launch, the rocket's two reusable side boosters descended tail-first in a thrilling scene, producing sharp sonic booms as they landed back at Cape Canaveral. Soon afterward, the telescope separated successfully from the rocket's upper stage, drawing applause from ground controllers.

Fox was in tears watching the action unfold. “It's such a good day!” she said.

Roman’s field of view is more than 100 times wider than that of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, still churning out celestial glamour shots after 36 years in orbit. Webb joined the effort several years ago with an even narrower yet spot-on vision capable of zooming in on objects almost as old as the universe.

These three orbiting powerhouses will join forces — along with the European Space Agency’s Euclid spacecraft and the National Science Foundation’s Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile — to reveal some of the universe’s biggest secrets.

Inside the countless galaxies awaiting discovery are stars with planets. Once these new worlds are spotted by Roman, the more powerful and sensitive Webb will take aim to fill in the blanks.

“Roman’s vast reach will allow us to find the weird, the rare and the unusual,” senior project scientist Julie McEnery said on the eve of launch. “We’ll redefine what it means to find a needle in a haystack.”

Perhaps even more important, astronomers expect Roman to shed light on the dark matter and dark energy that make up most of the universe yet remain concealed. Roman's catalog of galaxies will help scientists ascertain how quickly the universe is expanding due to these puzzling, unseen forces.

Roman’s superpower is speed.

A month of Milky Way observations by Roman would take Hubble a century to complete, according to McEnery. Roman should make quick work of scanning the galactic bulge at dead center, she added, providing the deepest look yet into the heart of our galaxy.

Besides a wide-field infrared camera that matches Hubble’s sensitivity but is 1,000 times faster, Roman holds an instrument to block out starlight. This experimental, eclipse-creating coronagraph will allow Roman to directly image any planet, however faint, that might be orbiting the masked star.

The telescope is designed to be refueled, meaning if a robotic tanker becomes available in the coming decade, that could extend its life.

Launching nearly a year ahead of schedule and within budget, Roman is NASA's first space telescope to be named after a woman.

Retired NASA scientist Ed Weiler said the honor is long overdue. He coined the phrase “Mother of Hubble” for Roman, who hired him in 1978. Observatories above Earth’s obscuring atmosphere can see farther and better, she insisted after joining the brand new NASA in 1959. She died in 2018 at age 93.

“This is very, very fitting. I think Nancy would be very proud” that the namesake telescope will tackle some of the biggest, lingering questions about the universe such as dark energy, Weiler said.

Hubble launched in 1990 with a flawed mirror that required spacewalking astronauts’ dramatic intervention. Roman’s primary mirror is the same size as Hubble’s — nearly 8 feet (2.4 meters) in diameter — and is actually spy satellite surplus.

The National Reconnaissance Office donated two leftover mirrors to NASA more than a decade ago for repurposing. The second mirror is still in storage.
